Abstract

2GrT 8000/71 (28 GrT) slurry pump design upgrade data are presented. The main design solutions are presented, in particular, pump items are connected in flow part on end surfaces in the following sequence: inlet pipe — cover plate — impeller. In order to provide leak tightness of removable cover plate with casing, cylindric surface tapers to conical surface with vertex of cone towards impeller. The upgraded pump operation results showed, that pump capacity increased from 8000 to 10000–12000 m3/hr, head increased by 23–30 % — from 69–71 to 85–92 meters of water column, liquid delivery to hydraulic sealing decreased from 1500 to 630 cu. m. GrT-8000/71 series slurry pump characteristics are presented: factory characterization, operational by slurry, actual performance of upgraded pump. 2GrT 10000/85 upgraded slurry introduction at Sokolovo-Sarbayskoye operation permitted to: decrease installation costs by removing the second stage slurry pumping station from service, cancel construction of the fourth stage slurry pumping station, decrease specific power intensity of processing tailings hydrotransport system, increase slurry pumps intermaintenance period, decrease spare parts use.
