Heinrich Geissler. SMS Meer provides large bright-steel straightening machine
24.01.2013, 19:03Heinrich Geissler, a company of the GMH Group, based in Witten, Germany, has ordered a two-roll straightener for bright steel from SMS Meer. The machine is 7 m high and weighs 280 t.
Heinrich Geissler will use the new machine to straighten round bars of solid steel with diameters up to 250 mm. The machine offers a straightening force of 8,000 kN. It will be supplied by SMS Meer together with the complete finishing equipment.
“SMS Meer as our long-standing partner has already supplied numerous peeling and straightening machines to the GMH Group,” says Dr. Jean Frederic Castagnet, Technical Director at Heinrich Geissler. “With this new bright steel straightener, we are now setting standards!”
Commissioning is scheduled for June 2013.
