Abstract

Making the innovation decisions in the processing of autogenous slags was required during the development of “Ausmelt” process, for the effective application of innovative technologies in the main metallurgical process at “Karabashmed” JSC. After the analysis of existing technological schemes and existing limitations on the industrial site of enterprise, there was adopted the decision to use the flotation processing technology of circulating products on metallurgical shop. After the end of construction of processing plant, the enterprise has faced with some difficulties, connected with its driving up to the rated capacity. One of the main failure causes of the achievement of project indicators, was the erroneous forecast of the quantity and composition, intended for the wastes processing, during the development of new autogenous process and adherence of process parameters during the development of flotation concentration process of metallurgical slags. Currently, the company’s specialists worked out the measures for shortcomings elimination.
In the contest of these events, there were carried out the following measures:
– the crushing system was changed with its transfer in two stages;
– the crushing equipment was changed;
– the scheme of materials supplement for crushing and to the silage of finished products was changed;
– the filter equipment was replaced;
– the dosage scheme of flotation reagents was changed;
– the organizational activities were carried out.
The reconstruction of the pulp thickening area and modernization of pumping equipment is planned by the end of 2012. The completed works for the efficiency improvement of processing plant made possible to increase the hourly loading of slag processing from 42 tones per hour to 60 tones per hour, with maintaining of all qualitative indicators of enrichment.
