Abstract

Physical chemical analysis accompanies the whole technological cycle of production and experimental works in OJSC “SIC “Supermetal”. One of the defining conditions of the production quality is the composition of metals and alloys, characterized by the concentration of main components and impurities. This problem is successfully solved by the analytical laboratory of the enterprise. The laboratory is comprehensively equipped by the testing equipment, measuring means and procedures of the analysis performance, which is necessary for the product testing. The monitoring of metals and alloys for impurities is realised by the emission spectral method and the atomic absorption method with the flaming and electrothermal sample atomization. The X-ray fluorescence method, gravimetric method, spectrophotometric method are used for the determination of the contain of the main components in the testing laboratory. In their activities, the laboratory specialists are always responsive to the needs of the enterprise: they master the new methods of analysis and the modern equipment, develop the new methods, analyse the various non standard products and carry out work on the metrological assurance of the analytical process quality. In the laboratory, the developments, made by the first employees of the enterprise, are treated with the due care. The methodological developments are made by the first employees in the field of the photometry, atomic absorption and emission spectrometry, X-ray fluorescence analysis and kinetic analysis techniques. These developments have been successfully used for the analysis of precious metals. For the further successful development, the laboratory leaders are preparing a new generation of specialists, transferring them the experience. Young specialists improve their qualification by force of the tuitor by correspondance and the full-time tuitor in the post graduate cource, and participate in scientific conferences and analytic school-seminars.
