Abstract

Design works to develop the border parts of the Upper Kama Basin Potash Deposit (UKBPD) have been begun due to intensive development of the UKBPD. Decrease of the mine seam thickness, increase of the insoluble residue percentage and decrease of the mine working roof stability characterize the border parts of the UKBPD. These facts require working out new approaches to the mining and preparatory works. New approaches are presented in view of the Talytsky District of the UKBPD at this paper. Rational industrial site and shaft location was pocked out based on the geodynamic, hydrologic and technological criterions taking account of the building site legal regulations. Taking into account necessity of provision the minimal construction period of the Talytcky District the panel and block mining scheme in direct order of panel mining and in reverse order of block mining is presented. The equal aerodynamic resistance by air feed/rejecting to/from working zone; isolated airing of service workings; air reserves by their partial second use and intensification of border parts airing; dispersed location of additional thrust source (auxiliary ventilating stations) on the ventilating way are foreseen to provide the effective ventilation. The mine field is divided into moistureproof parts to prevent pickle and freshwater inrush through water safe strata into the mine workings. The Red IIIa-b sylvinite seam selective mining technology by means of the continuous miners MC-350 by Sandvik equipped with the cutter drums is offered to approve at the experimental and industrial conditions. By means of the mining technology the mine working is backfilled in one year after mining. Hydraulic backfill is produced from tailings.
