The author has developed a method of engineeringgeological (EG) networks design which allows achieving significant decrease of time and financial expenditures due to the usage of modern statistic methods. A man-made massif is considered as a single object, while segmentation into sections is performed simultaneously (for one iteration). Testing of the developed method at mining sites was conducted in two stages. The first one was to analyse the data of the previous years: “excess” points which do not give the information about the object state were identified, and thus new EG networks were received at hydro dump “Log Shamarovsky” of Michkailovsky mining and processing works and hydro dump “Bekovsky” of Bachatsky coal open-pit mine. Geologicalengineering survey was carried out in order to manage the massif state and determine its further usage. In March 2011 six wells at hydro dump No. 3 of Kedrovsky coal open-pit mine were placed and complex sounding and sampling were carried out. Zoning of the man-made massif was made with a view to specify physic-mechanical properties of man-made sediments for their later disposal by hydro-mechanical way. In July 2011 two EG networks were designed in order to study a weak clay layer in the foundation of the head tailing dam and protecting dam of dumps at Stoilensky mining and processing works. On the basis of the obtained data the values of safety factors were specified. Calculations were made using a specialized program developed by MSMU Geology Department. Both testing stages of the developed method demonstrated high precision of results. One of the main advantages of this method is the elimination of personal researcher’s opinion, which is the root cause of redundancy when constructing geological-engineering networks traditionally. The used mathematical apparatus is clear and easy to formalize.
