Abstract

It is possible to achieve significant reduction in overburden operation volume with increasing of ramps’ slope and reduction of ramps’ width. The most promising application area for transportation ramps with i ncreased longitudinal slope and reduced width is the deep zone of open pits belonging to extremely- and moderately sensitive groups. To determine the most effective application area for steeply inclined ramps, technical and economic assessment is needed, taking into account technique and sequence of pit development, capital expenditures for auxiliary equipment and other factors.
