Abstract

The results of studies of the composition and beneficationability of technogenic raw materials of the Yaroslavsky Mining Company are presented. The tailings storage facility of the enterprise was formed from the processing waste of finely disseminated carbonate-fluorite ores. At the stage of primary processing, the ores of the Voznesensky ore district were subjected to fine grinding, ensuring a particle size of less than 45 microns of 80–90%. The features of the technology of flotation extraction of fluorite from secondary raw materials are associated with the presence of reagent films on mineral grains formed at the stage of primary ore processing. The transformation of particle surfaces as a result of prolonged contact with the water-air environment of tailings ponds introduces additional difficulties for adsorption processes during secondary benefication. The basic principles of constructing a scheme for the flotation of technogenic raw materials containing minerals with similar flotation properties are determined. The dependence of the benefication results on the sample composition and the ratio of the main components is shown. Comparative data on the results of flotation in the normal mode and in the mode of using ultrasonic collector preparation are presented. It has been established that the effect of ultrasound on collector solutions is accompanied by an increase in the quality of the technology. The possibility of effective benefication of technogenic tailings containing 18.26% CaF2 and 11.62 % CaCO3 is shown. According to the scheme with the further benefication of industrial products in a closed cycle, a concentrate with a mass fraction of CaF2 of 93.69 % was obtained with the extraction of fluorite of 73.35 %. The content of silicon dioxide was 1.56%, which is significantly lower than in concentrates produced by the company during the processing of primary ores.
