The article is devoted to the study using the finite element modeling method of the process of continuous-sequential die-free upsetting of pipe ends made of 17Kh18N11T steel grade, used in shipbuilding. The factors influencing the final dimensions and shape of the upset end are determined. The calculation of the temperature and speed modes of upsetting, which made it possible to ensure the required dimensions of the upset end of the pipe, is carried out. The upsetting force is calculated for two operations. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of using the obtained results to optimize the technological process of upsetting pipe ends in industrial production, which will increase production efficiency, improve product quality and reduce the likelihood of pipe defects.
