Abstract

The paper presents the results of modeling the influence of the asymmetric rolling process on the change in energy-power parameters of the rolling process and the bending of the strip after the deformation zone at various reductions ε = 0.03 ÷ 0.15. Simulation of the asymmetric rolling process was carried out using the FEM based Forge 2008® program. Asymmetry was carried out by changing the circumferential speed of work rolls when rolling samples with a thickness of 120 and 12 mm from low-alloy steel with increased strength S355J2 + N (+N - as delivered after normalizing rolling). The aim of the research was to determine the asymmetry coefficient to reduce the energypower parameters of the rolling process (the average linear load per 1 mm of the strip width and rolling power), the direction and magnitude of the strip bending after leaving the deformation zone. On the basis of the studies carried out, it was found that the ratio h0/D significantly affects the decrease in the strip linear load through the rolls and strip bending, and it is possible to obtain a given curvature of the strip that does not impede the free exit from the stand.
