It is hardly possible to overestimate the role of operating assaying and express analytical control being the backbone of the integrated product quality control in mineral mining and processing. The specified mission is to be accomplished by automatic system of analytical control ASAK. Generally, ASAK is a set of two interconnected subsystems: automatic pulp assay unit and analytical unit. The authors emphasize that high reliability of the analytical unit data is only possible with the representative sampling of process flows using the automatic pulp assay systems. The article describes the approach offered by RIVS Research and Production to designing an automatic system for pulp assay for mining and processing industry in the framework of the general concept of proprietary ASAK, considering theory and practice of ore sampling and processing control. RIVS undertakes research and development engineering aimed at manufacture, improvement and commercial introduction of a wide range of automatic facilities for pulp sampling, accumulation, pneumatic transport, deaeration, thickening and filtering at mining and processing plants. The package of such facilities is included in the automatic pulp assay system that embraces the whole cycle of processes, which are understood as assaying by this article authors. The assay system is highly reliable and multifunctional, and solves various issues of operating and check assay with accumulation of representative samples for different purpose testing. The modular architecture of the system allows introduction of individual modules at a plant, or simple expansion and upgrade of current equipment.
