Abstract

The reviewed plenary lectures were devoted to the following problems: tendencies of varying production and economical parameters of the Russian iron and steel industry (O. Yuzov), strategy of the Russian iron and steel industry development (A. Brodov), current state of European iron and steel industry and power engineering turn (D. Ameling), up-to-date requirements to the metallurgical technology for quality improvement of metal products (A. Zaitsev), up-todate low-carbon microalloyed steels (K. Grigorovich), scientific developments as the base of improvement of metallurgical technologies and steel quality (S. Burmasov), equipment, technology, manpower — searching for reserves for Russian works (D. Elanskiy), development and efficiency rise of steel making in four steps (V. Parshin), power engineering effi ciency of the Russian iron and steel industry during 1990–2012: current level and development prospects (L. Shevelev), refractories for steel making prosuction (L. Akselrod).
