Abstract

Floatability of gold and gold-bearing sulphides is governed by the mineral origin and process behavior. Size and shape of grain and chemical composition of surface of gold grains and sulphide minerals are the factors that have the highest influence on ore dressability. In 2013 RIVS undertook the research aimed to develop a non-cyanide technology for Novo-Shirokinsky complex ore treatment to produce high quality copper, lead, zinc and gold-bearing pyrite concentrates. The research findings hold evidence of high effectiveness of the developed technology. The total gold recovery reaches 90.52 % since the new technology allows for maximum extraction of gold-associated sulphide minerals in selective concentrates. The quality of lead and zinc concentrates has been improved. The copper extraction technology has been developed. Based on the research findings, a processing plant reconstruction procedure has been worked out. According to the economic design, the project payback period will be about 1.5 years.
