Abstract

Advancement in the technology and equipment for hydromechanization has given birth to new methods and process flow diagrams of sluicing, that are mentioned under different names or are left anonymous in current technical and support literature. For regulation and unification, the terminology of hydraulic mining is to be generalized and used in the modern unified classification. The unified classification coves the known and fresh methods and flow charts of hydraulicking, the descriptions and ranges of use of hydraulic mining processes. Alongside with the trestle, low-support and trestle-free hydraulicking, the classification is added with pump-dredge, water-jet and mixed methods that enjoy wide application in dredging, mining and construction recently. The authors give a detailed description of the pump-dredge and water-jet mixed method enabling sluicing earth structures in water areas at lakes and creeks using bottom argillaceous and sandy soil. The proposed classification allows regulation and unification of terminology of hydraulic operations in mining and construction in educational aids, technical regulations, specification documents and instructional guidelines. Furthermore, the classification will simplify the search and selection of flow charts of hydraulicking at a project stage of hydraulic mining.
