Abstract

The analysis of shape-changing parameters basing on the least resistance principle formulation has been done. The depen dence between received calculation accuracy and deformation area shape has been revealed. In order to extend the applying area of form-shaping calculation technique, the correction coefficient has been suggested. In order to determine the correction coefficient value, the analytical dependence based on multiple regression analysis was elaborated. The correction coefficient’s introduction has allowed to decrease the average calculation error of elongation coefficient in shape rolling both on smooth rolls and on shaped rolls from 4.5% to 2%, while the maximum calculation error doesn’t exceed 3%. As a result, the more exact taking into account of deformation area shape allows to extend the applying area of determination technique of the metal shape-changing practically for full range of rolled products. Practical approbation of this deformation efficiency rise will result in roll pass design for 16 stands instead of 18 stands at the 370 mill of Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works without increase of equipment load. It will be possible also to solve more complicated tasks, to vary geometrical parameters of all rolling passes and grooves for rolling of the required shapes.
