Abstract

The depletion of vast copper pyrites of mineral resources is the reason for development of single or group copper ore deposits, which are not very big in size and concentration. Many unclaimed small deposits with 40 mln of copper ore resources are situated in Urals region. The sense of projecting of industrial developments of this type of deposits is in the fast recoup of investments and, as a consequence, in the minimum projected power achievement and intensive mining of deposits. Some principal approaches are suggested due to the necessity of research work projecting and development of not very big copper deposits with complicated structure, changeable parameters and quality. This substantiates the maximum usage of existing worked out open pit areas and specific features of natural relief with the choice of the discovery scheme, ranging the resources info, parts and zones (according to certain criteria), and lowest level of preparatory mining works. The foregoing issues are based on the experimental project, presented in this article, which suggests mining of resources, left in Kamagan copper ore deposit (Republic of Bashkortostan) by underground mining method, which shows the group of lense-type and stratum-type resources with thickness from 1 - 1,5m to 20 m. These solid ores have embedded copper, containing 2,2 mln t of copper ore. According to this, there is designed a plan for underground mining of these ores. Economic comparison of different methods of underground mining demonstrates the fact, that the highest mining effect of open pit can be achieved by the working out of the largest ore area No. 12, taking into account the earlier mined areas and putting the dividing structure (15 m thickness) between the open pit border and underground cells. The foregoing approaches provide the shortest copper ore mining and preparation periods, intensive working out and recoup of investments, completeness and quality of mining, ecology and safety of mining process.
This work was carried out with the participation of the grant NSh-2918.2014.5 (НШ-2918.2014.5) of President of Russian Federation.
