Abstract

During the operation of ore-dressing and processing enterprise, there happens the emission of a range of hazardous substances into atmosphere. These substances make a negative influence on flora and inhabitants. The main sources of the most hazardous SiO2-containing inorganic dust are dusting surfaces of tailing dumps and dumps of dead rocks. According to the data of Olenegorsk Ore Dressing and Processing Enterprise, their part in total volume of contaminants is 80 and 12%, respectively. This article describes the method of calculation of risk of intoxication of inhabitants by polluted air, based on calculation of probabilistic observations of all factors, defining the final level of aero-anthropogenic load. Considering Olenegorsk Ore Dressing and Processing Enterprise, there was made a zoning of territory of Olenegorsk town. According to the intoxication risk value, Olenegorsk own is situated close to the ore Dressing and Processing Enterprise. Over 2/3 of territory of the town was included in the area of the most high risk of intoxication of dust from tailing dumps. According to this, minimization of dust forming should be the first and foremost direction of nature-protection activity of enterprise only on this object. There was proposed the aerodynamic method of dust control on tailing dump in the type of continuous (per 10 m) direct-and-quadrature screening of its surface, which makes possible to decrease the ratio of dust-removing wind to 2-2.5 m/c.
