Abstract

This article gives the technical solution, directed on increasing of energetic efficiency of drying of potassium chloride concentrate in drying drums in the process of manufacturing of potassium fertilizers. Installation of gas-turbine heat and electric energy engine in parallel to existing furnace units was offered at «Belgorkhimprom» JSC for replacement of existing fire gas technology by more efficient one. Exhaust fume of gas-turbine unit (temperature is ~500 °C), which reached the required temperature (~700 °C) in reheat units is used as drying agent. Drying agent, directed into drying drums, provides the drying of potassium chloride concentrate with productivity, which is no less than the productivity, obtained by existing technological scheme. Gas turbine sets the electric energy generator drive in operation, taking into account the fact that this generator is simultaneously included into power supply system. Excess heat of fire gas after gas-turbine unit is utilized in exhaust-heat boiler and is directed to consumers at the industrial area as steam and hot water. Energotechnological module was introduced at the Mining Department No. 2 («Belaruskali» JSC). This decision makes possible to decrease the costs on heat-energetic resources by 12%. Payback period of costs on the basic equipment is ~4 years.
