Tsvetnye Metally

The opening publication of Issue 6 of Tsvetnye Metally includes an international review of the non-ferrous metals market.

The following section contains articles describing recent developments at Kola MMC. Thus, authors report on digitalization and robotization progress achieved in the metallurgical segment and on ensuring the company’s economic security.

The Beneficiation section features articles that focus on the use of ion flotation at Almalyk MMC to process metal-bearing acid solutions and on the thickening processes intensified through efficient mixing.

The articles included in the Rare Metals, Semiconductors section focus on an optimized photometric technique for rare earth metals determination in phosphate ore; sorption of rhodium(III) chloride complexes by silica chemically modified with γ-minopropyltriethoxysilane groups; separation of rare earth metals in countercurrent extraction cascades using binary extractants.

In their paper, the staff of the Tula State University look at some aspects related to the production of high-performance composite mixtures and materials.

Authors from the Belarusian State Technological University and Saint Petersburg Mining University report on a model compound with nanodiamond particles developed for precise investment casting of metal parts.

The Automation section features an article with the following title: Analysis of Electric Current Supply Circuits to Rolls during Electroplastic Rolling of Tungsten Microstrips.

The section entitled as: Welcoming the 200th anniversary of Gornyi Zhurnal and the 100th anniversary of Tsvetnye Metally, features an article that tell about the life and work of Nikolai Aseev, professor at the Leningrad Mining Institute and a leading Soviet metallurgist of the period of the first Five-Year Plans and the Great Patriotic War. His life and work were intertwined with the history of his Alma Mater – i.e. Leningrad Mining Institute.
