The Chernye Metally journal, No. 11-2021, was published, which is mainly dedicated to the anniversary of the united chair for Metallurgy and materials processing technologies of the Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel. The articles of this section highlight the issues of the effect of the deformation rate on mechanical properties and microhardness of a thin steel wire made of 80 steel, the effect of speed parameters of reduction on the accuracy of the resulting pipe profile, the study of physical and mechanical properties of rapidly quenched strips made of multicomponent iron-based alloys, improving the quality of traditional products due to the use of alloys with unique service properties and the modernization of the Hunter method.

 

The issue of the journal is headed by the Ore dressingsection, where an article by the authors of the Bakor Scientific and Technical Center has been published, which acquaints readers with reasons for a sharp decrease in the filtering ability of ceramic elements, as well as with the search for a solution to restore the filter elementsefficiency.

 

The Steel production and metal sciencesection presents an article ofauthors of the South Ural State University, in which the issues of using hydrogen instead of carbon as a reductant in ferrous metallurgy, as well as the second part of S. V. Davydov's article Phase equilibria in the carbide region of the iron-carbon diagram, which offers a complete diagram of the iron-carbide ε-Fe2C system in the concentration range of 0-9.7% C without lines of graphite and diamond liquidus. The first part of this article was published in No. 9, 2021.

 

In the Rolling and other Metal Forming processessection three articles of authors of the Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University has been published, which are devoted to assessing the effect of plastic reduction on the stress-strain state of reinforcing bars, plotting dependencies for choosing rational strip tensions in the digital twin of a cold rolling mill, as well as the peculiarities of the formation of mechanical properties in shaped bars made of 09G2S steel in the process of accelerated water cooling.

 

In the same issue, publications are presented in the Energy, ecology and recyclingsection.

 

The Chronicle section contains material dedicated to the memory of Academician L. A. Vaisberg.
