Chernye Metally

In the “Steel Production” section, the higher efficiency of complex microcrystalline modifiers of the INSTEEL® series for reducing steel contamination by non-metallic inclusions of all types is substantiated.

The next section is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Nizhny Tagil Metallurgical Plant. The complex for the use of pulverized coal in blast furnace production, which was the first one introduced by EVRAZ NTMK in modern Russia, is presented. The experience of using slag from a desulfurization unit in blast furnace production is described. A technique for removing sulfur from heterogeneous slags, taking into account their ionic structure, is proposed. Based on the results of computer modeling, recommendations are suggested for selection of the optimal ratios of the forging geometric parameters, aimed at reducing the power-energy modes of the equipment and increasing the resistance of the deformation tool is proposed.

The “Rolling and other metal forming processes” section discusses the experience of evaluating the flatness of a thick sheet in the automatic mode, as well as presents the Tebulo`s fnew robotic solution for safe strip cutting.

The “Metal Science and Heat Treatment” section contains information about the successful application of modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence methods in the analysis of microstructures and prediction of the strength properties of steels after various temperature and mechanical influences. The results of the study of the influence of heat treatment on the mechanical properties and resistance to cracking in the hydrogen sulfide environment of structural steel are also presented.

The “Economics and Finance” section discusses the challenges of introducing exchange mechanisms for the ferrous scrap export in the context of the development of electronic commerce, gives practical recommendations for their elimination.

The "From the History of Metallurgy" section is devoted to the production of artillery at the factories and arsenals of Russia in the XVIII - mid XIX centuries. The features of formation of casting steel guns in Russia are shown. The origin of the steel cannon industry in the Russian Empire was reconstructed, which was more promising and replaced arsenal production.
