Tsvetnye Metally

The first issue of "Tsvetnye Metally" (Non-ferrous metals) journal (January, 2013) continues the series of articles about the projects of Russian Copper Company. Thus, the section "Beneficiation" includes the article about the innovation approaches to projecting and improvement of concentration processes of the "50 years of October" deposit's copper-pyrite ores. The global experience was maximally used during the projecting and construction processes. According to this, the up-to-the-minute technological equipment was purchased. During the development of processes, equipment and new productions, the company was faced with a number of errors, related to the insufficient study of process regulations. The constant and systematic work for the removement of disadvantages made it possible to reach the technological parameters, recommended with the reserves assertion and issuance of license for extraction of ores of the considered deposit.

The 7-th of January, 2013 is the 70-th anniversary of Novokuznetsk Aluminium Smelter. The history of its creation and development is described for the whole period: since the day of setting of this smelter into exploitation till nowadays. For 70 years, the collective of the smelter have been solving various problems, even the most difficult. The Great Patriotic War, formation of the smelter in the postwar years, the crisis 1990-s after the collapse of the Soviet Union, financial and economic crisis of 2008-2009 – all these events became the real school of life for the collective of the smelter. The future of Novokuznetsk Aluminium Smelter is in the next modernization of the production process, development of production systems, based on the new technologies, which are in the property of "RUSAL". You can find more information in the article "The 70-th anniversary of Novokuznetsk Aluminium Smelter".

The article by A. V. Naumov, published in the section "Economics and Management of Production", tells about the current status and changes of the market of indium, under the influence of new sectors of its application. The "supply-demand" balance is estimated along with the demand in indium in the medium-term and long-term prospects. This article also gives the review of the basic manufacturers and consumers. There are described the new spheres of indium application, which are now being developed. There is given the discussion of the application prospects of indium-containing solar elements. Availability of raw materials base for these elements is also considered. This article also analyses the most actual technological problems, which raise with a growth of requirements. The ways of these problems solving have already been planned.

The article by B. A. Kotlyar and A. M. Okunkov explains the necessity of improvement of the stimulation of labour productivity growth, taking into account the peculiarities of metal products market. The necessity of establishement of the dependance of labor compensation fund and wage from the results of labour should be considered as the main problem of wage policy.

The article by V. A. Chanturiya, T. A. Ivanova, E. L. Chanturiya and I. G. Zimbovskiy describes the operation mechanism of new AMD (АМД) reagent (1-phenyl-2,3-dimethyl-4-aminopyrazolone-5), which is intended for the flotation separation of sphalerite and pyrite during the flotation of gold-containing copper-zinc pyrite-containing ores.

The article by A. V. Kurkov and I. V. Pastukhova describes the research results of the structure and operating mechanism of a new phosphorous-containing reagent, using the computer visualization method. These results model the behavior of this reagent in the concentration processes of fluorite and rare-metal ores.

The article by B. А. Hildenberg describes the proposed technology of extraction of the platinum group metals from the wastes of fire clay lining of glass-melting apparatuses. During the concentration of these wastes, there were obtained the high indices of extraction of platinum group metals into the gravitation concentrate. The following finishing of gravitation concentrate provides the obtaining of alloy casting, containing 98% of the platinum group metals with extraction of 91%.

The article by A. M. Klyushnikov, V. V. Musaev, S. L. Orlov and A. B. Umanskiy describes the process of obtaining of nickel concentrate from nickel solutions, using the sorption process on amine-carboxyl ionites. On the basis of obtained results, there was developed the technological scheme of the solutions processing after sulfuric-acid leaching of oxidized nickel ores of Ural. There were defined the optimal regimes of this technological scheme operation.

The article «The analysis of technical and economic indexes of modern calcium manufacturing» describes the thematic area of light metals manufacturing.

The section «Compozites and Multipurpose Coatings» includes the article by N. I. Polushin, A. I. Laptev and E. M. Baragunov. This article describes the microstructure and mechanical properties of four matrices of complex chemical composition: WС – Co – Fe – Cu, WС – Со – Fe – Cu – Ni, WC – Cu + cast tungsten carbide (melted and grinded WC), WC – Cu – Ni + cast tungsten carbide. These matrices are used for manufacturing of geological prospecting diamond drilling bits.

The article by V. I. Gel and D. N. Rudakov is published in the section «Metal Processing». There are described the questions of development of the smelting technology for aluminium scrap and wastes on the enterprises of secondary metallurgy of Soviet Union and modern Russia.
