Abstract Investigations of the layers on specimens of VK20 hard alloy have been conducted via X-ray structural analysis; these layers have been processed previously by pulse plasma. The factors having pulse-plasma strengthening effect on the surface are determined. Choice of optimal operating procedure allowed to increase specific wear resistance of roll passes for rolled shavers by more than 1.5 times.
