Реферат At a blast furnace No. 6 of the Russian Nizhnij Tagil Iron and Steel Works (NTMK) for the first time 4-m long copper staves were installed in the belly and lower stack and integrated in the evaporative cooling system (using only natural cooling water circulation — no pumps or secondary cooling). Additional measuring devices were installed to permit monitoring and analysis of the cooling system operation and the working parameters of the integrated copper staves. This paper evaluates the measured results and interprets the rationale for the use of copper staves in an evaporative cooling system.
