Abstract

Numerical investigation of forming of transversal crack at side plane of a slab in rough rolling at 2000 mill is presented in the paper, as well as analysis of stress-strain state around defect is done. The mechanism of transversal crack transformation in longitudinal defect is shown. It was established that crack opening occurs under effect of longitudinal extension normal stresses. Possibility of consequent crack propagation is estimated using Cocroft — Lafem criterion.
