Features of shell manufacture from continuously cast billets at 4 tube rolling mills are considered. Piercing mills operating according to plant technical procedure until production of “mass” tube dimensions are compared. Recommendations for adjusting these mills in order to decrease number of cycles before plug head and increase number of steps for better structural processing of continuously cast billets from carbon steels are suggested.
